Zipper and Button

When I first started this blog I said that posts would probably be few and far between.  Who knew they would be this far! 

Ophelia has wandered.  She left about 6 weeks ago.  I still hope she will come home someday.  When she does she will notice a new brother and sister.  I have now adopted Zipper and Button.  Both strays from 2 different people.  Zipper was pseudo named by the Bennett's.  He is black short-hair with white feet and a small boo boo on his left leg.  I knew I was going to get him a week before I picked him up.  Then Mrs. Barnett sent out an IM that a calico kitten had showed up at her house and it was going to the pound unless someone adopted it.  Couldn't let that happen.  I picked up Button that Friday afternoon and got Zipper Sunday night.  Zipper is a few weeks older than Button but they are definitely kittens.

It was not an immediate lovefest between them but they have now grown not only tolerant but fond of each other.  They play like brothers and sisters and occasionally Mama has to break them up.  Zipper could do a better job of remembering where the litter box is.  I may wind up having to replace the cushion on my couch.  I lock them in the bathroom during the day to preserve my house but alas...

Zipper will let me hold him like a baby.  Button has extremely sharp kitten claws.  Both are somewhat vocal but Zipper's purr is much louder.  Both are precious and I am glad to have living housemates again.
